Launch of Green Imperative at state house
The Federal Government in partnership with the Government of Brazil is set to launch an agricultural initiative aimed at boosting agricultural production in Nigeria. The initiative also known as the Nigeria-Brazil Agricultural Development Programme is tagged “The Green Imperative”.
The initiative will amongst other things entail the introduction of advanced Brazilian Agricultural Equipment (ABIMAQ) and the establishment of Training Centres for Nigerian Farmers across the country.
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, will formally launch “The Green Imperative” at a ceremony to be held as follows:

The Green Imperative Project (GIP) is the largest agricultural project in Africa and prioritizes the development of sustainable, low-carbon agriculture. Green Imperative aims to develop structural conditions to boost food production in Nigeria in an efficient and competitive manner.
The Green Imperative Project’s main line of work is the development of food production value chains, through the development of Service Centers for agricultural and livestock production, which will support small farmers in agricultural mechanization, technical assistance and access to the market.
